Ever since my sister made the big decision to go natural, I discovered that there is a large [and intense] group of Black women all over the net who are intensely in tune with not only managing their new tresses but supporting one another on their journey. One thing I also learned is that in this natural hair universe, there is a LOT of DOUCHEBAGS [Who I refer to as Natural Hair-Nazi's] but they are in no way the MAJORITY, because many intense natural hair girls are just smart, funny, witty and good hearted – like BEE from ’83 To Infinity.

Now if you are not a TRUE hip-hop head then you probably MISSED the play on words in the sites name in reference to the classic Souls of Mischief song “93 Till Infinity”:

And that wittiness is just the tip of the iceberg. There’s very few people on the web truly worth reading and Bee, in her short time running the site, has already formed a unique and HILARIOUS voice.

She is a gorgeous, 6 foot tall, University educated, happily married, former model, current health care specialist and self-admitted nerd who can wax philosophic on why Dwayne Wade is better than Lebron all the way to the ups and downs of being newly married. She routinely makes inspiring posts on how to achieve your dreams, and how to pull yourself out of your personal or professional rut.

But what also sets her blog apart is the knowledge and care that she brings to managing natural hair. Not only does she provide amazing tips for women, but more importantly she talks CANDIDLY about the transition and how it affected her relationship with her husband, co-workers and family members. It’s cool to hear someone tell you “don’t give a damn what anyone says just do you!” but it’s a MILLION times more encouraging to hear someone talk realistically about their own personal struggles and successes in an honest and upfront manner.

But the reality is, you need to get your ass over to her site and start reading – and when you are crying from laughing, or just crying at her cute and corny marriage proposal story, you can thank me later…

Thanks! My last relaxer was 4 years ago….I grew my hair out for one year, and I've been wearing my natural curls for 3 :)

It's all good, but no need to worry – my husband takes good care of that ;)

Makes for a good steam treatment when I slather jojoba oil on my hair and sneak up on him while he's in the shower so that we can…never mind.
