First I must say wow Lebron’s hairline is gone with the wind. I guess all the greats lose their hair in order to be great. First name “hairline”, last name “Onthebackofmyneck”. Reminds me of when Jasmine Guy went in on Will Smith on an episode of the Fresh Prince, ah good times.

Noteable Thoughts

Derek Fisher, while we appreciate the honorable man that he is and all he has done for the game…it’s time for a change. Is there a retirement home or basketball hospice for old pgs, don’t get it confuse just because he hit the game winner earlier this week doesn’t mean he isn’t one of the worst starting pgs playing. I mean eventually Marley from Marley and Me, had to lay it down.(sorry for the spoiler if you haven’t seen the movie, it’s good check it out.)

Let Kobe be great, too many people blur the line between his personal issues and what he does on the court. Sure it can be considered warranted, but I’m pretty sure he doesn’t care and nor do I. While I stand beside my feeling that he is the best in the game, I just can’t cosign that Lebron is nor will I. Honestly D-Wade is has more of a killer instinct than Lebron and that speaks volumes.

***I really wish Jordan never played that game with the flu or at least we never knew about it. Why? Because everyone wants to prove their toughness playing sick or with the flu. Seriously you have a 190 degree fever, why are you here? You like being the Outbreak monkey, it that what’s hot besides your forehead. There’s a difference, when MJ did it there was a championship on the line and in your case well you are playing for the YMCA All-stars against 40 year-olds like Ben Stiller in “Along Came Polly”. “Let It Rain!!” So do us all a favor and just stop it! This includes Lebron, I’m giving him the side-eye because having been taken down with the flu, you feel like you are on your deathbed coping deals with GOD on your couch crying but your tears evaporate because of your fever. Lebron looked perfectly fine torching my Spurs/Lakers(I’m sooo not bitter) and MJ looked like death warmed over. So just….stop it!

The Houston Rockets aren’t as bad as I thought they would be, they aren’t great nor are they turrible (charles voice). I loathe the way the Houston teams have been managed and being a native Houstonian it hurts to see all our teams suck except the Texans this year.(I’m a Giants fan) The Rockets and Trailblazers can run the table on an unsuspecting team in the playoffs. The Rockets can make it as a 8th seed possibly and we all know with the right matchups the underdog can prevail.

Key Games

Spurs v Suns

I am a Spurs fan and I am not delusional about what they are capable of, but this game even when it was close was still a snoozefest. Maybe because the Suns are done, and if they really love (singing the old Brownstone song) Nash they need to let him go. He came back to the team that drafted him and gave them life as well as his best years. He is on his last leg so to speak and if things continue he will be the first MVP to not make it to the finals. Nash needs to tell them Give us free.” On to the Spurs, it hurts my soul to see Tim Duncan looking like a shell of his former self. Truth be told ever since he went down with the knee injury I knew it was the beginning of the end for him and the Spurs. TP is still a decent pg, not as elite as he once was or if he really ever was. Richard Jefferson used to be good back in the day, now I wish the Spurs would’ve amnestied him. They are old, but with the west being wide open you never know what could happen. For all we know they could end up in the finals again. Granted it has been 12 years since the ‘99 lockout, but the Spurs won shortly after. Now with this condensed schedule as well as Pop knowing how to rest his players can be quite beneficial for them.

Heat v Lakers

Now on to bigger things, I would like to have a word with Mr. Bryant on his shot selection. “I mean so what’s hot in the streets is jacking up shots to open the game, not even disgusing your motive like you do your hairline? It looks like it’s sipping on that lean. Do better!” Ok I’m done venting…McRoberts’ cheap shot on Lebron was uneccessary and again who is he? We had a rare Eddy Curry sighting not that anyone cared. Until the Lakers address their lack of a bench and need for a legit pg they will continue to be an aged mediocre team that looks elite in a weakened western conference. Now the Heat looked pretty good and may be ok without Wade for a while, they may actually be better for it in the long run. Lebron has been on beast mode all week and as long as the wins continue to be added in the process it’s all good. There may be another MVP award along with his first Championship waiting for him to claim. But as I said before if they don’t have a healthy Wade or another key player goes down when it matters…well Lebron will get his first ring, but at the alter.

Clippers v Timberwolves

Kevin Love is the truth and has been for a while now, it’s the fact that he plays for a bad team that he is undervalued. The Timberwolves have been on my radar this season and this game was what I expected it to be. It was close, intense, energy filled and exciting to the very end.Somebody should’ve told the Clippers that he can shoot the 3 ball, did they even do a scouting report? Finally having Rubio on the active roster will be good for them in the long term, as long as they understand that the turnovers will decrease with time. You can’t rush greatness.

Wizards v Nuggets

While this isn’t necessarily a key game I had to privilege of listening to this game in the car. Wow the Wizards are trash, no other word for them. They are the equivalent of their football counterparts the Redskins, they have tons of talent and don’t know what to do with it. Every time I think maybe they will bring it together, they don’t. Maybe I will stop having expectations for them and they will shock me. John Wall needs to “roll tide” his way out of DC when his rookie deal is up, sorry I would. Now the Nuggets have never lost a beat since the Melo trade and are almost a better team for it. While I wouldn’t have paid Nene the money they did, I do understand why. They needed a centerpiece to build around or at least be identified by.
