My absolute favourite team in the NFL is the Oakland Raiders, but since they are LONG eliminated, I have been feverishly cheering for my SECOND favourite team, the Baltimore Ravens, to get back to the Super Bowl and help Ed Reed [the greatest deep safety to ever play in the NFL] get his first ring. Well the Ravens found themselves a field goal away from taking the Patriots to overtime and a possible victory, until the unimaginable happened and kicker Billy Cundiff decided to go RAY FINKLE and miss the easy field goal and cost the Ravens their chance at victory.
Patriots Headed To The Super Bowl AGAIN
Let me not make it look like it was ALL Cundiff’s fault because there were a lot of crucial plays that cost the Ravens that game, namely the poor O-line play, Lee Evans dropped touchdown pass and the fact that they THREW the ball on 3rd and 1 with one timeout left:
Today you will hear A LOT of BS about who did what wrong and who could have done what to prevent the loss, but the facts are JOE FLACCO outplayed TOM BRADY, both defences played well and the game came down to a chip shot that was inexplicably smashed wide left. I’m glad to hear Ray Lewis isn’t retiring and I hope Ed Reed isn’t either so the Ravens can make a run at this next year, but give the Patriots credit. They made the plays they had to and were the better team on Sunday. But it still hurts to know the Ravens were a CHIP SHOT away..
Eli Manning Leads The Giants To A TOUGH OT-Win Over The Niners
First, Rob Parker [and Skip sometimes too, but he's been right more often than not lately] is an IDIOT.
What a DUMB-ASS. Well, Rob, what the HELL more does Eli have to do NOW?
But I digress…Since we are on the topic of special teams F*^KING-UP, Billy Cundiff may be TIED with punt returner KYLE WILLIAMS who muffed 2 punts, including THIS one that led to the game winner:
But as much as he will get TORCHED in the media for ruining the Niners season, SOMEONE needs to point out that Alex Smith’s UNDERWHELMING play really screwed them by going 12/26 for 196 yards and 2 TD’s. The problem with putting up such TEBOW like numbers, is the fact that Tebow is at least efficient and successful on 3rd downs late in the game to keep drives alive. The Niners didn’t complete ONE third down the entire game – that’s NOT gonna get it down.
All in all, I’m really excited to see a rematch of the 2007 Super Bowl between the Patriots and the Giants, and I will reserve my prediction for THAT week, but in the mean time I will predict who I think will win the following awards at the NFL Honors ceremony on Feb 4th.
MVP: Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
Coach Of The Year: Jim Harbaugh, San Fran. 49ers
Offensive Player Of The Year: Drew Brees, N.O. Saints
Defensive Player Of The Year: Jared Allen, Minnesota Vikings
Offensive Rookie Of The Year: Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Defensive Rookie Of The Year: Aldon Smith, San Francisco 49ers
Comeback Player Of The Year: Victor Cruz, New York Giants

normally AFC games bore me to tears, and since i was sick this weekend, figured surely my nfl nap would happen in the early game. nopes. it was riveting and i was rooting for baltimore like i was watching homicide or the wire all over again.
that strip in the end zone was bad, but no matter what ray lewis says – the kicker did end it all. all he needed to do was at least give them a chance to get to OT. it's not like the patriots overwhelmed them for the 4 qtrs. i hate when a team loses because of their own mistakes, and not because of the other team's play.
if defense wins championships, how can 1 defensive play and a 31st(?) ranked defense get you to the superbowl?? I WANT TO SEE THE RECEIPTS!!
as for SF. the 1st punt was almost worse than the 2nd. if you aren't going to do anything with the ball – WHY ARE YOU REMOTELY CLOSE TO IT???? This set the Gmen up to think that he's going to be nervous for future punts, and he was right. He's got to be absolutely sick. Poor ting.
So it ends up the way i expected, but not the way i wanted. womp.
it would have been nice for the west coast to be represented. now it's going to be 'Boston' vs New York for 2 weeks. I'm avoiding the NFL network until Feb 5th.

You got to give it up to the Patriots Defense they really came up big. Although Flacco wasn't bad he made costly underthrows to Smith and Evans (you can't expect a WR to catch the ball behind him and protect it from a DB swat at the same time!) Also why didn't Baltimore use a timeout to let the kicker setup? Dude rushed on field and barely had time to look up to see where he was kicking. Poor Coaching.
The superbowl easily could have been 49ers VS Ravens oh well guess I was right…lol
I will admit I was wrong about San Fran's D they're good and their secondary is crazy.
I still say Pierre-Paul for Defensive Player of the year

Its hard to compare those to plays but if you wish…
1. Eli was under a lot more pressure than flacco was.
2.Eli DID NOT under throw that ball it was thrown high. Flacco's ball was behind the forward running WR
3.The defender was behind the Giant's WR. In Evan's case his defender was in front of him.
4. Flacco had enough room to catch Evans in stride there was no strategy for where Flacco threw that ball

and Flacco gets paid MORE to throw so throw more ACCURATELY!

harsh, it's not science class:
any coach would say: catch the ball. as a receiver, if it touches your hands, that's got to be a reception.
catch the ball. that's what tyree did. he caught an uncatchable ball, avoided the strip and held on.
why? heart and will. not circumstances.
catch the ball. that's all.

Bend don't break defense… It will NOT get it done against Eli…

I swear to GOD that Eli is going to have to win three superbowls to get Elite recognition… He was getting FUCKED UP out there, and didn't make the costly mistake… Grand
No.1 defense, on the road, in a effing MONSOON… Last NFC championship was in frigid conditions… But negroes still wanna question his elite status…
Eli will torch that Patriots defense (25+ points)… I am letting it out now…
Flacco winning in Foxborough, against Belicheck & Brady… FOOH… I need a big money quarterback (Eli) & I still might lose
I picked the 49ers & I was WRONG, BUT I felt justified in my pick… Refer to the above Eli statement… THat well coached defense has a HOF swag to it, and if they get a better QB, they will make it to multiple SBs…
Eli (6-3) is better than Peyton (9-10) when it matters… And to see him win two SBs will definitely shake up things in the Manning household
