So the inspiration behind the title is the fact that I was stuck out in the “boonies” of Virginia this past week with no television outside of 3 channels and barely any internet. So my comments this week will be brief, but hey I suffered all week.

Not much too many random thoughts this week, but I want to throw this argument of there: So months ago my older cousin and I were arguing about Lebron not being better than MJ at this point in his career. I stated that while Lebron has better assists numbers and even a better 3 pt percentage, MJ was a better player than Lebron 8 seasons into his career. I am not a huge MJ fan, I respect what he did for the game of basketball and how he transcended the sport in itself. I gained an admiration and appreciation for MJ as I got older, but like Riley on Boondocks said “Game recognizes game and you are looking real unfamiliar right now.” To say Lebron is better than MJ career wise is basically blasphemy upon all that is basketball. What do you think?

Knicks v Heat

So I managed to escape my week in captivity and see this game. Knowing Melo was going to be absent from this game due to injury, I really didn’t expect much. Outside of Walker hitting shots, the Knicks looked horrible and they looked every bit of a 7-12 record team. Even though the season is still in it’s early stages and to press the panic button is a bit premature, but I understand if hover over the panic button. They haven’t looked great with Melo so it’s no surprise they looked the way they did without him. I never want to count any team out and I won’t with the Knicks, but hoping for a championship may be a lofty goal at this point. I will say it again, D-wade is the man and his presence on the court made a difference as well as he brought energy that wasn’t there. They need to find a better balance for Bosh, because he struggles when Wade has been there this season and he’s thrived in his absence. Just know that Wade is the key to their success this year, they need to do all they can to keep him healthy or they will have another ring-less offseason.

Bucks v Lakers

Will the bleeding stop, we all knew the Lakers weren’t going to come out the blocks clicking on all cylinders…but we didn’t think they’d struggle this badly. A loss to the Bucks, with Drew Gooden starting as their center is inexcusable. Not to take anything away from the Bucks, but come on. I don’t understand how the “Bigs” of the Lakers aren’t dominating teams including the undersized Bucks. Kobe can only take so many shots to keep you in the game, but may be we need an Amber alert for Bynum and Gasol because they are clearly missing. The Bucks looked decent and held their own because I automatically thought this was going to be a win for the Laker and it is clear they did too. It is weird seeing Stephen Jackson playing for the Bucks, but they have a decent team to work with and possibly get into the playoffs as a lower seeded team. It’s still early, but it is possible. The Lakers have a lot to do and I won’t reiterate my feelings, just refer to the previous posts.

Kings v Jazz

I can’t lie this game was just ok, but they Jazz are quietly winning games out West while people are focusing on other things. The huge addition of youth to an aging team helped them in the long run, honestly the Jazz have no other way to go besides up. The Kings, well let’s just say they will probably relocate after this season. It is a shame that with good players like Evans and Cousins, even that isn’t enough. Both of theses teams with experience, they have no room for anything but improvement and in due time that will come. After losing Derron Williams and coach Sloan last year many thought it would really set this Jazz organization back, but it hasn’t. Yes they aren’t the traditional team we usually see compete, but who cares if the final outcome is a playoff berth and the revival of the organization.

Heat v Bulls

The game wasn’t lost when Rose missed that jumpshot in the closing minutes nor was it lost when Rose missed his free throws…it was lost when they didn’t have Deng playing. Whether people acknowledge him for what he is, he is an x-factor. Yet for some reason he plays well against Lebron and the Heat. Even if he had barely 10 points, that could have been the real difference in this game. How much is Boozer getting paid, because he is overpaid! Rose is the man in Chicago and he is worth every penny, but this Boozer experiment isn’t holding up well. That Lebron dunk over Lucas was nice and exciting, I’ll say it again as long as they stay healthy this team is for real.

Ladies & Gentlemen, What Are YOUR Thoughts On Bron VS. MJ?

Also What Are Your Thoughts On The Last Week In The NBA And Predictions For The Upcoming Week As Well?

  2. Paul B.

From a physical standpoint, LeBron had the potential to at least match MJ's accomplishments, but he lacks the obsessive focus needed to do so. The truth is nobody would pick Lebron over MJ at this respective point in their careers.

  3. MistaHarsh

I was a knicks fan during the Jordan era so my Pat Ewing loving ass NEVER liked Jordan. But the 2 things(out of many) that separates MJ from LBJ is accountability and composure. Jordan used to get harassed by the more physical players like Larry gold teeth Johnson, Anthony Mason and Oakley to the point where he once shed tears but he ALWAYS put his rag tag team on his back and came up where it counted.

Lebron has no composure or accountability that's why he ran from Cleveland. He had a good chance to win against the Cetics and he just disappeared. Even if it was true his mom was getting turned out you leave that ish off the court. Jordan was the King of composure. you never knew what he was thinking or felt on or off the court. Speaking out against the players during the lockout was the only time Jordan's been so vocal on ANYTHING.

  4. MistaHarsh

Jordan was the greatest because he wouldn't brush off missing 2 FTs in the last seconds by saying he played well for the other 47 mins. Nor would he disappear in the NBA finals to let Scotte Pippen take all the shots and tell reporters "I played defense"

Another thing LBJ was born with height and quickness he has the luxury of mismatches like guarding yesterday's 6'1 D Rose. Jordan had to work for everything he got it wasn't as easy.

I'm at work so I'm rabbling but fack it I made some points…

Lebron ain't the best player on his team right now so how it look comparing him to MJ???

  6. ATLienSince82

Rag tag team??? You mean the team with 3 hall of famers to new york's 1?? LOL

  7. MistaHarsh

    what hall of famers?
Pippen – rode Jordan's coatails. Without Jordan he isn't a HOF. Portland will tell you that.
Rodman – he's a beast but he was only there for the 2nd set of rings. His HOF was etched based on his time with the Pistons.

The 3rd is Jordan so yes the team with Kerr,Paxson, Cartwright, Luc Longley, Wellington, Jack Haley ARE rag tag

  8. Kevin

Pippen didn't ride MJ's coattails. He was a legit player and a HOF level player. The years Jordan was playing Baseball tell you that – check his stats. Portland Pippen was at the end of his career and had back and knee injuries. Not representative of what he was as a player in his prime. Probably one of the top 5 Small Forwards in NBA history. MJ helped him get to that level- but to say he's not a true HOF player is silly.

  9. Kevin

New York had less HOF players but they had a better all around team than the Bulls did. They were stacked at several positions and they had a deeper team. Jordan was able to break teams down on a mental level. That was the difference. MJ was the difference as the Knicks were able to get past the Bulls once MJ went to go play baseball.

  10. Tudor

"Grandmama" was on his decline in NY (sidenote: was on the first cover of SLAM). Not worthy of Hall-of-fame consideration. Not even sure if he played with the team during that era (I have look it up)

But that Knick team was serious! I always tell my friend he would fit right in lol

  11. The_Mad_HATER

gtfoh!!!! thats just hatin' right there!!!

  12. OhhSnap

There is no way that Lebron at this point and possibly never will be as great as MJ. Once he left Cleveland for heater pastures. He lossed a lot of credibility with me. As MistaHarsh said. Bron was born with height and physical ability. Not saying he doesn't have the skill but dude is so big. He could easily play a TE position in the NFL.. Jordan had a tenacity and unrelenting passion that you just won't find in Lebron. I like LJ but you just can't compare and really shouldn't.
