Last night, after the Giants came from being 8 down to beat the New England Patriots in Super Bowl 46, we all got to witness something VERY special: Eli Manning not only proved he was one of the best QB’s in the league [as if he needed the Super Bowl win to do that], but he proved that his name and Tom Brady’s will HAVE to be mentioned comparably in the same sentence for the rest of their lives, whether YOU like it or not. Is Eli Manning a better QB than Tom Brady? At this point, NO, but to say that they aren’t even in the same class after Eli has now beaten him TWICE is just flat out RIDICULOUS.

I want you all to think back to last summer when Eli Manning went on radio to say that he believes he is ELITE and in the same class as Tom Brady [after throwing 25 interceptions the season before]:

Keep it REAL, after hearing this at the time you thought Eli had to be smoking something to even put his name in the same paragraph as Brady regardless of what happened in Super Bowl 42. Hell, people didn’t even think he was a top 10 QB, much less an elite one. And it wasn’t just the fans either. In the NFL Networks players poll of the Top 100 players in the league, Eli did not make it in – even though Donovan FRIGGIN’ McNabb DID. But after his amazing performance on Sunday, and winning his second Super Bowl MVP in a second Super Bowl win over Tom Brady, he has GOT to be mentioned amongst the best ALL TIME.

(Oh, and this has to be mentioned among the best Super Bowl plays of ALL-time):

But, let me not make it sound like Tom Brady played horribly because the fact of the matter is he played good. In fact he was a dropped Wes Welker pass away from probably closing that game out and putting the Giants season on ice.

The one UNFAIR aspect of THIS Super Bowl is the fact that people look at Tom and the Patriots as the huge FAVOURITES and the Giants as these HUGE underdogs. The reality is, the Patriots should have been seen as the underdogs, regardless of their regular season record, because they had already been beaten by the Giants AT HOME and New York has CLEARLY been playing better football as of late. Brady did not CHOKE or FLOP, he just ran into a much better team and didn’t have his main scoring threat at 100% health [Rob Gronkowski]. Do I think this loss should negatively affect his legacy? HELL NO. To be honest the only person who’s legacy this Super Bowl hurts is Peyton Manning’s – I don’t think it’s such a GIVEN that he will go down as the best QB in his family.

Don't feel TOO bad for Brady though...

The guy who deserves the most props though is Tom Coughlin. Every other week they are talking about how he needs to be fired and he now has brought home 2 Lombardi trophies to New York and their unappreciative sorry-ass fans.

Even Flava Flav got love for Coughlin - so why can't YOU?

In fact NY Fans, as HARD as it may be to go against your hating nature, why don’t you try APPRECIATING your head coach and quarterback while they are still here, because once they are gone you DEFINITELY will have A LOT to complain about.

See y’all NEXT season.

Ladies & Gentlemen, What Are YOUR Thoughts On Super Bowl 46?

  2. MistaHarsh

dont know why the giants were underdogs either. The patriots didnt deserve to be in the superbowl their road went through Denver(really) and a botched fg by Baltimore. The Giants road started with a winning streak to going through tough teams like GB and SF.

I'm happy for the Giants they're really the only complete team in the NFL
