2012 NFL Week Two Review: Eagles Prove They’re The REAL Birdgang

This Sunday was a ROUGH one for me as my Raiders got SMASHED by the lowly Dolphins, and then my Ravens lost by 1 in the final minutes of the game to the Philadelphia Eagles despite Mike Vick throwing 2 interceptions, bringing his season total to 6 in two games. Although I thought the Ravens new passing game was gonna be TOO potent for Castillo’s defences, Flacco proved the more things change, the more they stay the same.

1) Mike Pick, Er, Vick & The Eagles Fight To 2-0

I must say that this was one of the most chippy and PHYSICAL regular season games I’ve watched in a LONG time, and both sides were constantly getting at each other and trading blows. It was obvious the replacement refs didn’t have the heart to control dudes, but I’ll be VERY surprised if Desean and some of those other dudes don’t face any fines or suspensions. As much as I want to give the Eagles D credit, this game was more about Flacco’s inability to move the offence on 3rd downs. They looked lethargic and uninspired. Flacco is NO WHERE NEAR Elite yet. But, shout out to Celek on a HUGE game:

2) The JETS Are Who We THOUGHT They Were

What the HELL did I say last week when all the Jets fans were doing the Skip To My Lou dance after smashing the sorry-ass Bills? I said, WAIT until WEEK 5 to judge them, because they have some VERY tough games coming up – like THIS one against the Steelers. The Jets didn’t just get beat down 27-10, they got EMBARRASSED and made Sanchez look as REGULAR as we all suspected he is. I don’t wanna hear a damn thing about Revis not being there, because Polamalu AND James Harrison didn’t suit up for the Steelers. The Jets game against Miami next week is a MUST WIN – or they will be staring down a 1-4 start to the year.

3) Dallas Needs To MAN-UP

There’s ONE thing the Cowboys need to become a scary football team: TOUGHNESS. The same vibe you know to expect in a game versus the Steelers, Ravens and Niners, is the intimidation factor the Cowboys need. I feel they are one of the most talented teams in the NFL, but for some reason people feel like there’s NOTHING to really fear against them. But that toughness STARTS with the head coach, and Dallas may need to consider making some changes.

4) Guess Who’s The Best Team In Texas?

Here’s a hint: It’s NOT the Cowgirls. Who would have expected that the Houston Texans, after losing Demeco Ryans, Jacoby Jones and Mario Williams, would be arguably the BEST team in the AFC? After crushing the Titans, I think it’s fair to put them in the discussion of “Teams To Watch” in regards to early Super Bowl predictions [yeah I know it’s early as hell, but I’m just saying].

5) The Saints Ain’t Marching A DAMN Place

I heard people say all off-season that the Saints wouldn’t be TOO terribly affected by the loss of Sean Payton because they have a great system in place, but these Saints NEED him out there to motivate them on D. I knew they would lose to the Redskins and I predicted the Panthers would beat them, but I expected their D to put up much more of a fight. Drew Brees is forced to do TOO much by himself.

“LOL U MAD BRUH?!”

Shout out to Cam Newton and that crazy-talented receiving corp, which will soon star Lafell instead of Steve Smith. Also, just an FYI about Cam Newton from my podcast:

6) Congrats To Andrew Luck On His FIRST Win In The NFL

Andrew Luck went 20 for 31, threw for 224 yards and 2 TD’s, but what the numbers WON’T show is that he led them on a 2-minute drive that resulted in a game-winning Adam Vinatieri field goal. He was on the sidelines motivating his teammates and then played CLUTCH which is not a common site to see from rookie QB’s in their second ever game in the NFL.

Speaking of Vinatieri, the Patriots could have REALLY used him against the Cardinals to prevent their shocking 20-18 loss in their home opener, resulting in a face you NEVER want to see your owner make:

7) RG3 SHOULD Be 2-0 – But Then He Got JOSH MORGAN’D

As much as I think the Rams are gonna be a REALLY tough team this year, they SHOULD have lost to the Redskins but once they got into field goal position on a great Josh Morgan catch, he got up and did THIS:

C’mon bruh, are you SERIOUS?

Speaking of DOUCHEBAG moves, as much as I like the young Bucs, their coach Greg Schiano acted like a DOUCHEBAG by sending the goons at Eli and that O-line after the game was done. He DESERVED to get cussed at the end of the game.

Monday Night Football Prediction: {Current Record 1-1}

– This week I think the Denver Broncos will pull out a close win over the Atlanta Falcons, and I predict Julio Jones will have a big game
