I remember talking to a young woman recently and she was describing to me how hectic her day had been. She had to wake up at 5 am and run errands, work, go to school and still keep her house together as she is an avid workaholic. I said to her that I think that's very sexy, to which she was taken aback and asked "What's so sexy about running around like a chicken with it's head cut off?" to which I ... Read More

Seeing as it's almost year end, I can say that this was a really great year for TIYC in terms of gaining new readers, expanding into event production and reaching a larger international fan base. One question I have had emailed to me constantly is about guest contributors for the site, guest video bloggers and much more. I was hesitant to get back to people as fast as I wanted to because I had a lot more planning to do before I ... Read More

If the Occupy movements all over the world have not awoken your mind to the fact that we live in a much different social-economic dynamic than ever before, then allow me to point this out to you right now: We live in a society with a growing wealth disparity where the middle class is disappearing and job security is quickly becoming a thing of the past. Hell, if you think you are going to rack up some huge College debt to get ... Read More

So as you guys should remember, on September 29th, 2011 I was invited to speak at a discussion panel event called Battle of the Sexes inside Nightingale Lounge in Manhattan, NYC which I was [and still am] very proud to be invited to, being a Canadian blogger being asked to participate in an event in the US. But the reality was, being invited wasn't JUST good enough - I wanted to challenge everyone in there with my particular brand of un-common sense ... Read More

So after a strong summer of verbally and intellectually KICKING ASS at various brunches, panel discussions and radio shows by simply 'Keeping It Real' with some un-common sense, on Thursday, September 29th I have been invited to represent for men WORLDWIDE in a Battle Of The Sexes event LIVE in New York City! Last night, Barack Obama delivered a poignant and optimistic speech on the recovery plan that America is going to use to right the economy and create more jobs. What's especially interesting about this particular speech is that he was very PASSIONATE in his stance as well as being downright combative and confrontational. Though I love his hopeful and inspirational speeches, I was excited most of all to see Barack do the one thing I have been waiting for him to do ... Read More

Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls, Commenters & Lurkers, Lovers & Haters and all the other people I missed, I'm going to do something I rarely do on or offline - I'm going to ask people for opinions about something I want to do that means a lot to me. I have always subscribed to the "If people don't know your dreams they can't shoot them down" ideology, but today I'm scrapping that BS and putting myself in harms way to share ... Read More

So I have a new website, http://fashionablylatefridays.com/, which is catered to people who are TIRED of Fancy titles, Bullsh*t promises and Grandiose claims made by event promoters here, because THIS event has merely just provided the grown, mature, sharp & stylish urban demographic in Toronto with an event we have been BEGGING for, for years: Read More

If you are over the age of 27, a Black person or supporter of urban-ethnic culture who lived in North America and you DON'T remember Fox's All-Black TV show line-up on Thursday Nights, I kindly request that you leave your Black Pass & Hood Accreditation at the door with security. Right now. Now clearly if you lived somewhere where Fox wasn't available to you then you get a temporary STAY, but the rest of y'all should be ashamed for missing what was ... Read More

As a "Hip-Hop head" I try to be fair and balanced about my views on Rap music and it's sociological influence. I love the music and I think it's amazing, but I'm honest enough to call Rappers out on their bullsh*t when the time is right, and one of the most overused and poorly executed Rapper idioms is: "I just rap about the harsh realities of what's going on in the streets." This is mostly BS, as we all know a great ... Read More
